Simon trained as a Physiotherapist at King’s College, London and graduated in 2001. He spent 5 years working for the NHS in Kent before returning to his native Lancashire at the beginning of 2006. Simon then worked increasingly in private healthcare, both in private practice and in hospitals working primarily with people suffering from orthopaedic and musculoskeletal problems before opening the clinic in 2011.
Simon has a keen interest in treating elite athletes and he has been fortunate enough to work at several major sporting events both at home and abroad. Simon worked as a physiotherapist at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014 and in Birmingham in 2022. He has worked in elite athletics and swimming as well as at the first European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan in 2015 and at the Youth Winter Olympic Games in Lausanne, Switzerland in 2020.
In the clinic, Simon is one of the clinic directors. He also works full time as a physiotherapist and sees a varied caseload of people of all ages with orthopaedic and musculoskeletal problems as well as maintaining his interest in sports injuries.
Away from work, Simon is father to two very active young boys, is a keen cook and regular cyclist.
Lynley graduated with a BPhty(Bachelor of Physiotherapy) from the University of Otago (Dunedin, New Zealand) in 2001. After working in her native New Zealand, she moved to the UK in 2003. During her career, she has worked in a variety of settings, including public and private healthcare, as well as in research and teaching in the University sector. In 2007 Lynley gained full accreditation with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) and now travels around the UK teaching Physiotherapists and Healthcare Professionals the APPI method of Pilates. Lynley is passionate about movement analysis and movement re-education. In her spare time, Lynley is a mother to two young boys and enjoys cycling and running.
Carol graduated from Bradford Hospital's School of Physiotherapy in 1990. She worked in various NHS hospitals in Liverpool before specialising in the musculoskeletal field when she moved to the University Hospital Aintree in 1992. Carol has worked alongside orthopaedic consultants in clinics as well as treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. These include back and neck pain, peripheral joint problems and sports injuries. Carol started work at Garstang Physiotherapy Clinic 2013. In her spare time, Carol has a busy family life caring for 4 children and enjoys swimming and aerobics.
Catherine’s journey began at the University of Plymouth, followed by an early career as a primary school teacher. A love for adventure took her to Australia, where she taught PE and discovered just how much she enjoyed inspiring others to move, grow, and live active, healthy lives. Driven by this passion, she returned to the UK to pursue physiotherapy—first as an assistant, and ultimately qualifying as a physiotherapist in 2024.
Outside of work, Catherine is always on the move. You’ll often find her wild swimming, climbing, heading out for a parkrun, or hitting the slopes whenever she can.
She’s also deeply involved in her local church community, volunteering with the youth and young adult team to organise social events, study groups, and outdoor adventure weekends that bring people together.
Emily is a 3rd year physiotherapy apprentice student placement, here at the Clinic until Mid March 2026. Emily studies at The University of Lancashire, and when she’s not at university she works at Fleetwood Hospital seeing MSK physiotherapy patients.
Whilst on placement with us Emily will not only be mentored by Simon & Lynley but will also be offering appointment for sports massage and physiotherapy on Monday & Tuesday afternoons. As Emily is a student physio, the appointments will be half price.
Emily already has a sports therapy degree and a PE degree from Leeds Beckett University.
Outside of studying Emily is very active and enjoys going to the gym, is a keen netball player, playing for Blackpool Netball Club. Emily also enjoys swimming and walking. During her mid teens, Emily achieved Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh awards. Whilst at Uni Emily cycled from Leeds to London to raise money for Hockey for Heroes.
Jennifer Peasnell is a fully accredited matwork Pilates instructor with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI). Having seen the benefits of Pilates herself in her 30s - as she overcame chronic pain following a health issue and an accident - she is passionate about helping others in their journey to better health and movement so they can enjoy their lives to the full. As well as Pilates, she enjoys climbing and kayaking with friends and also works at Lancaster University Management School, supporting students to develop skills through live business projects.
Michelle Lingard is a fully accredited Matwork Pilates Instructor with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institite (APPI).
Michelle’s background is in the veterinary profession and she still works part time as a vet locally. Her journey with Pilates began when supporting her young daughter during her recovery from serious illness. Witnessing the power of Pilates first hand to restore and develop muscle strength and balance, lead to a passionate belief that she wanted to learn more about this amazing technique and be able to share this with others. She loves working with, helping and educating her clients and then seeing them develop. The next step on her journey is to train as a Reformer Instructor through APPI.
Away from work, Michelle enjoys cold water swimming, fell walking and walking her Labradors and generally being outdoors wherever possible.
Caroline qualified as a physiotherapist in 2018 from the University of Central Lancashire. She worked for the NHS in a rotational role across a number of areas including Neuro, Rheumatology and Respiratory before specialising in the Community and Musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
Caroline is currently undergoing training to become a fully accredited instructor with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI).
In her spare time she enjoys Taekwondo, cycling and wild swimming.
Rosie France is a qualified Accredited Matwork PIlates Instructor with the Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute ( APPI).
Having experienced first hand the power of pilates in recovering from many years of chronic back pain following her first pregnancy, Rosie developed a desire to go deeper, learn more for herself and in turn share this with others. She loves helping others develop their own awareness of body posture, muscle balance and healthy movement patterns to support them in living the lives they desire.
Rosie's background is in Community Nursing where she continues to work part time alongside sharing her pilates passion. She loves to learn and develop and is therefore embarking upon the reformer Instructor Training through the APPI.
Outside of work, Rosie loves to exercise, be in the great outdoors, and spend as much time as possible having fun with family and friends
Neil Williams trained at the College of Foot Health Practitioners and qualified in 2007 after which he established a very successful domiciliary (home visit) business in the Isle of Man. In 2009, Neil moved to Manchester to study Podiatry at the University of Salford, graduating in 2012. While there he gained great experience ranging from diabetic foot care, nail surgery and biomechanical analysis. Neil has also helped out at the Manchester City Football Club Academy, treating both players and staff. Since leaving university, Neil has trained as a Kinesio Tapist. Garstang Physiotherapy Clinic is delighted to host Neil's company, 360 Foot Care, which provides a full Podiatry service: www.360footcare.co.uk.
Ann works part time at the clinic. Outside of work she has a busy family life and enjoys being involved in community activities and groups. She enjoys running and generally keeping fit. If she sint at the gym or helping organise a raffle, Ann will be socialising with family and friends!
Eileen works in reception at the clinic and really enjoys her job meeting and chatting with patients.
In her spare time, Eileen likes to go walking with her dog, travelling and spending time in the Lake District.
Lisa works 3 days a week on reception, where she enjoys welcoming and getting to know our clients. She is a proud mum of one and in her spare time Lisa loves swimmig, cooking, travelling and catching up with family and friends.
